John Drenka Passes Away

Squamish Forestry Pioneer and president of Squamish Mills, John Drenka, has passed away.

He was 95.

Drenka passed away at the Squamish General Hospital at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, March 19, a family member informed the Squamish Reporter.

He was hospitalised a few days ago. 

He passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, the family members said.

    John Drenka was someone to me as a mentor. When he spoke I listened also his quick wit and great sense of humor enlightned my heart.
