Squamish RCMP is reminding the community to be extra vigilant after a spate of theft from cars in Valleycliffe.
Police say they often start seeing an increase in thefts in the fall and are reminding the public to lock their cars and take valuable items out of the vehicles.
The latest warning by the police comes after a rash of thefts from cars in Valleycliffe, where there were seven reports of thefts from cars in one day.
The majority of the reports came on November 27 from residents living on Maple Drive and Guildford Drive in Valleycliffe.
Police reported that various items such as a Black Suunto Ambit 3 Peak GPS Watch, survival gear, and fishing gear in a green canvas case as well as money was taken.
VEHICLE STOLEN FROM WEST VANCOUVER FOUND BURNED BY CAT LAKE
On Tuesday, November 27, at approximately 2:30 pm, Squamish RCMP received a report of a burned out vehicle along the Cheekye Forest Service Road near Cat Lake.
The vehicle was identified as a 2007 Grey Jeep Commander. It had earlier been reported stolen from West Vancouver near Park Royal on November 21.
If anyone has any information as to when the vehicle was there or a fire in the area please call Squamish RCMP.
