Lab hours increase at Squamish General Hospital

August 2, 2019 11:04am

Squamish General Hospital’s outpatient lab has increased its hours of service effective July 8. The lab is now open on Mondays and offers expanded hours Tuesday through Saturday.

These are the new lab hours:

Monday 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Tuesday 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Wednesday 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Saturday 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The change is a result of the population of Squamish has grown by more than 30 per cent over the past decade.

“This is a case where we listened to our staff and physicians and to our clients and patients, then worked in partnership with Lower Mainland Labs to increase services so we can improve access for Sea to Sky residents,” said Karin Olson, VCH Coastal chief operating office.

“In addition to better service for patients and clients, having expanded hours also allows our lab staff to process more tests and reduce turnaround times for test results,” added manager, laboratory operations Taslim Hassam. “It’s a true win-win scenario.”

Enough already!!!! The excessive noise and pollutants from Motor cycles, Pick up Trucks and Cars with there muffler made to make the LOUDEST NOISE possible . These drives are one of the most inconsiderate people I’ve seen. Do they realize what their noise does to Seniors, or small children or people with anxiety. Shame, Shame on all of you. No the RCMP can’t do anything about this.
