Trail repair work to begin next week in Valleycliffe

August 8, 2019 11:36am

District of Squamish crews will begin work on the Little Stawamus Creek along the Crumpit Creek Cruise Trail. Residents are being asked to not access the train as there will be heavy equipment in the area.

Work on the creek will begin on August 12.

Crews will work in the area between Guilford Drive and McNaughton Park to remove log jams and repair a section of the trail that is washed out.

This work is being done in conjunction with the Squamish Trails Society and Cascade Environmental in order to improve fish passage, properly direct high water flows, and protect district infrastructure on Guilford Drive. This work has been permitted by the necessary agencies to allow access to the creek during August.

Crews will begin hauling rock and gravel starting August 7 along the trail from Guilford Drive in preparation for the work. Watch for flagging crews on the trail and adjacent roads while driving in the area. Any road delays should be less then five minutes. McNaughton Park will not be impacted.
