Townhomes proposed at Quest University

January 10, 2020 7:45am

District of Squamish has received a development permit application for 13 townhomes located in the Quest University area.

The townhomes will be located at 40809 The Crescent. The vacant lot is located in the University Heights subdivision, which was subdivided earlier in 2019.

The proposed development is located in Development Permit Area 11, which is zoned University Campus and Residential.

Neighbouring properties to the north and west of this proposed are vacant single-family lots, but there is a vacant lot planned for multifamily development on the east.

The application seeks to allow for the construction of 13 townhomes.

Each unit provides 3 bedrooms, are roughly 1500 square feet and will be clustered into three blocks, two clusters of four units and one cluster of five units, according to a staff report.

The development is accessed off of Huckleberry Drive.

Each unit will have a separate garage providing the required two parking spaces, and bicycle parking will also be provided in the garages.

Each garage will also have pre-wiring to facilitate electric vehicle charging. The developer also plans to provide 600 square metre of shared open space in front of the units along The Crescent.

Semi-private open space will also be provided as private garden areas in front of each unit.
