The province is funding three new buses and roof replacement at the Squamish Elementary School as part of a province-wide funding program.
SD 48 has received $2,033,379 in funding from the province, which will enable it to buy three buses and cover roof replacement at Squamish Elementary School.
The funds will also cover a boiler upgrade at Don Ross Middle, and HVAC upgrades at Don Ross Middle.
A boiler upgrade at the Spring Creek Elementary School, and building envelope upgrades at Pemberton Secondary School are some other improvements that the funding will be used for.
The funding is part of a provincial push for more green, efficient and safe learning spaces for schools. BC is giving a total of $217.7 million this year to schools.
The funding includes an extra $12.2 million from CleanBC that will give school districts more resources through the Carbon Neutral Capital Program to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the government said.
This can include adding solar panels, high efficiency boilers and LED lighting upgrades to schools, as well as installing electric vehicle charging stations.
