Wind speed will increase again: Environment Canada

Staff report
March 14, 2020 7:58pm

Arctic outflow winds may have eased slightly, but this cold windy spell isn’t quite over yet.

The wind warning issued for Howe Sound continues, and wind speed will increase before it calms down.

According to an update by Environment Canada, wind speed will increase again with peak gusts over southern sections of Howe Sound reaching up to 90 km/h.

The warning is also valid for Bowen Island.

The strong gusts will start to ease late Monday morning.

Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage, Environment Canada warns.

To report severe weather, send an email to BCstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #BCStorm.
