Squamish Fire Rescue attended to a structure fire on Fourth Avenue following a call to 911 at approximately 2:40 am on April 9.

All SFR units were dispatched and police were also on scene.

Fire chief Bill Stone said two homes were involved, and the damage to one of the homes is extensive.

“Thankfully no-one was injured and the residents are in the care of Emergency Social Services. No cause has been identified,” he said.

A one-block perimeter road closure has been in place during the response but will likely re-open shortly.
