SLRD has issued a directive for evacuated full-time residents of the Upper Squamish Valley.

Evacuees requiring emergency accommodation should go to the Executive Suites Hotel at 40900 Tantalus Road.

Hotel reception will check people in after confirming their permanent address in the Upper Squamish Valley.

Canadian Red Cross will follow up with evacuees tomorrow.

Meanwhile, fire crews are letting people on the North end of the fire to come through on Squamish Valley Road, according to Squamish RCMP.

No one is allowed to head up the Valley and roadblocks are in place.

“We are aware of the inability to communicate via cellular service in the area of the wildfire. Anyone who is thought to be in the area please notify us in order to keep track in case of evacuation. We are working as quickly as possible and appreciate all the support,” Squamish RCMP said.
