Like all humans and animals on this planet, I have experienced suffering, struggle and discontentment. My safety, health and wellness have been challenged. I have faced adversity, crisis and lost loved ones, dear and near to my heart.
There have been times in my life’s journey when I thought, “How am I ever going to get through this?” My way of thinking, feeling, listening, and living has evolved accordingly. I have reflected much during this pandemic and am grateful for the opportunities that have arisen from this global market correction for civilization.
As a student of life, I have learned that to overcome my struggles and to succeed, I need something to motivate and inspire me, something to hold onto, something to look forward to and a way to give back to the world in a meaningful heart-centered way.
So, I challenged myself, starting March 1, 2020, to put my theory into practice and make every effort to enhance my health and wellness, using the tips, tools, and techniques I have learned along the way. Despite my struggles and setbacks, and because I believe health is wealth, above everything else, I have made it my mission to care most about me.
The way I feel matters, and my feelings affect how I treat others. In addition to stretching, breathing, and eating a rainbow assortment of whole foods, I exercise in nature, and cast my burdens on God. These practices alone have had a drastic impact on my attitude, behaviors, and my relationships.
As I underwent daily practices of outdoor exercise, breathing and gratitude, and letting go of what no longer serves me, I noticed the simple beauty in everything, and within myself. I recognized, that where there is love, there is life, passion, and freedom.
As the weeks went by, I observed and felt a distinct difference in my body and brain. I went from complaining, criticizing, and condemning, to caring, cherishing, and connecting with people in a loving, kind, and compassionate way. After only two months, of these daily practices, my life, relationships, body, and health improved immensely.
I also adopted the mentality commonly referred to as the “Golden Rule”: John 13:34, 35 “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” which is a biblical concept spoken by Jesus in the Gospels along with his command to “Love one another. As I have loved you so you must love one another.” I took these messages to heart and applied this way of thinking to the way I act and react.
Knowing about Jesus and following by his loving example, I believe, is the best way to live and treat each other. I know we must learn to be kinder towards ourselves and more loving towards one another. Our survival depends on it.
We have collectively seen and felt the tragedies, and the repercussions of this global pandemic. Fear and struggle are real. I have noticed that our words and actions intimately and intricately effect everyone on a worldwide scale. I have seen, heard and felt the collective hunger for health, calm and connection in its most true and pure forms.
I have tried to capture this feeling and vision, with a camera, my writing, and by being the change I want to see in the world. I have made use of social media as an avenue to promote what I have done personally and positively to affect change.
As a mother, businesswoman, and health coach, I seek to influence and “help people wake up and feel better one vibe at a time” I know, that this trajectory of merely surviving can shift to thriving! This is a lofty goal and yet, with this global reset, and the changes in our world, I believe a better way can be possible with everyday action steps, conscious connection with our Creator, and by choosing to be disciplined in our daily routines. I have found practices that work for me and my body.
I teach and integrate what I have learned to my children. Some days are good and easy. Homeschooling is not. I have a profound respect for teachers. I am continuously grateful that Jesus does not have Covid-19, so I get close to him when times are tough.
Since March 1, 2020 I have practiced breathing and stretching each day. I also practice intermittent fasting and regular prayer, sometimes I ask for what I need, but mostly, I tell God how thankful I am. Our world is evolving and as we use social media platforms to share our journeys, and experiences, they allow us to stay connected with family and friends; new, old, near and far.
I have found a collective, supportive global community of people who care and collectively share the same intrinsic need to stay calm, heart centered, healthy and connected. I recommend and even dare you, to try something new, like, one or more of the practices I have described in this article.
If, you’re like me, and seek to be a light in this life, please reach out to me on social media, I love new friends who are eager to see the best, instead of the rest, in this weird and wacky world we live in. Thanks for reading what I have written.
