District of Squamish has reopened the Brennan Park tennis courts.

The Eaglewind tennis courts will open next week, while the tennis court on The Boulevard will open to the community by the end of the month.

District also maintains the skate parks on Buckley Avenue, under the Mashiter Creek Bridge, and at Brennan Park.

They are all open now.

The Squamish Farmers Market is also open and public washrooms will be available in Junction (Pavilion) Park, Downtown Squamish on Cleveland Avenue between Victoria and Main Streets.

With the long weekend, district said residents should be prepared to start seeing visitors to town.

“Living in one of the most spectacular outdoor environments in the world, and being located 45 minutes from a major urban centre means that we share our backyard. This will help our local businesses recover,” district said.

District is also urging locals to be kind, patient and calm towards others and go easy.

“There are so many incredible little things we can focus on this weekend, and I urge each of you to take care of your mental and physical wellbeing and venture out a little,” said Mayor Karen Elliott.

“We are blessed to live in such an inspiring natural environment, with so many outdoor areas to explore. Let us proceed with care, respect and tolerance for the others around us. We truly are all in this together.”
