A man has survived a fall into Mamaquam River, Squamish RCMP said.

He was pulled out from the river about 14 kilometres away from where he fell.

Squamish RCMP received a report of the man falling into Mamquam River on May 24. He was found near the Raffuse Creek area, approximately 24 km up the Mamquam River FSR.

Miraculously, the person was pulled from the river by campers in the area. He was found safe and well, and it was later determined he was approximately 14 kilometres from the location he fell.

Squamish Search & Rescue and Emergency Health Services also responded to the call and ensured that he was in good health condition.

Police didn’t provide any more information on the circumstances leading to the fall.
