The District of Squamish has resumed front counter services at the Municipal Hall, and is now offering in-person service between 10 am and 3 pm.

District has designated 10 am to 11:30 am daily as time for seniors, and seniors will also be prioritized throughout the day.

Only two customers are allowed at any given time, and they will be asked to line up outside the hall.

Physical distancing, enhanced sanitization protocols and customer limits are in place and all customers will be greeted by a staff member who will provide assistance and direction.

Citizens can now purchase transit passes, get dog licences, business licences and building permits in-person at the district as well as pay property tax and utility payments at the front counter.

However, the district is encouraging citizens to pay online or utilize the front entrance drop box to deliver a cheque.

The Home Owner Grant can also be claimed online, and public is being encouraged to access services online or by phone when possible.

“Our staff are working hard to continue to provide great customer service online, by phone and when absolutely required, face-to-face,” said Mayor Karen Elliott.

“Like many others, we will follow the orders and advice of public health and continually reassess our services through each phase of BC’s Restart Plan to ensure we’re meeting the expectations of our staff and citizens.”
