Parking will be restricted at Darrell Bay

Parking won't be allowed in Area D or Area A
Staff report
June 12, 2020 4:09pm

District of Squamish is restricting parking on portions of Darrell Bay parking area.

The portions of the overflow parking area at Darrell Bay will be closed off until further notice.

Two areas (Area D and B on the map) will be closed, although parts of the Area A will be maintained as a turn-around area only.

There will be limited parking available in the area C for access to public waterfront. The restrictions begin next Tuesday, June 16, and will be in place until further notice.

District said the closures are meant to stop the spread of COVID-19 by limiting the amount of overflow visitor parking in the area.

“Overflow parking restrictions will help BC Parks and the Sea to Sky Gondola to manage the number of visitors recreating at their sites,” district said.

The area has been used by the Sea to Sky Gondola to provide parking for customers. The base of the gondola is approximately one kilometer walk from the Darrell Bay Parking area.
