Squamish RCMP arrest prolific bike thief

Staff report
July 11, 2020 9:42am

Squamish RCMP have arrested a bike thief who had stolen a citizen’s bike from outside the Corsa Cycles in Downtown Squamish.

A resident had left her Cramerotti bike outside Corsa Cycles unsecured. When she came out of the store, she realised the bike was gone.

Police officers patrolled the area and located the bike and subsequently arrested a prolific offender. The man has no ties or job here and he was placed on conditions to not be in Squamish.

On July 2, two more people reported their bikes stolen from the Smoke Bluffs park. One bike is a black specialized hard tail bike and has a broken left brake lever. Police have recovered the second bike.

Men’s wedding ring found

On July 2, someone found a men’s wedding ring in the bush at the Squamish Budget Inn and turned it over to the RCMP.

Squamish RCMP will keep the ring for 90 days and then dispose it if no one claims it.
