Illegally parked vehicles at Brohm Lake will be towed: Squamish RCMP

staff report
July 31, 2020 12:29pm
Squamish RCMP have issued warning to those who are parking illegally at Brohm Lake.

There have been a lot of illegally parked vehicles on the Highway at Brohm Lake, and those vehicles would be towed, Squamish RCMP warn.

“If you’re parked where you shouldn’t be you risk getting towed today,” Squamish RCMP said.

Squamish RCMP will also increase patrolling in town and enforce traffic laws during this long weekend.

For the long weekend, police across the province will be setting up CounterAttack roadchecks across to get impaired drivers off the roads.

“If you’re caught driving impaired, you could end up paying in a number of lasting ways – from increased insurance premiums to fines, car impoundment or even jail time,” said ICBC.

Meanwhile, BC RCMP have also asked people who plan to visit Cultus Lake area to be mindful of parking regulations on the August long weekend.

Illegally parked vehicles on the shoulder of roadways posed a threat to motorist and pedestrian safety and could cause challenges for emergency responders, said Sergeant Krista Vrolyk.
