The driver was issued a violation ticket for driving without consideration.
A cyclist was hospitalised after being hit by a truck with an insecure load on Highway 99 near Lions Bay yesterday.Just before 11 am yesterday, police were called to Highway 99 after a cyclist was hit by a load of lumber that was in the back of the pick up truck.

And that is why I have said for many years cyclists do not belong on major highways. I am glad the driver got a fine but anyone that has no protection whatsoever and wants to ride on a road that people who are doing over 80 kmh are taking their lives in their own hands and really that is what they think their life is worth 369$. And just so you cyclists get it they are not going to up the fine for stupidity.

I would really like to know what kind of person in these days thinks that it is such a smart idea with all the distracted drivers on the road (and no you will never get rid of that). And yes i am truly sorry if i offend someone for this but i really think that the truth hurts sometimes.
