Squamish Food Bank moving to new location downtown

Squamish Food Bank is moving to a new location in Downtown Squamish called Under One Roof, located at 37871 Third Avenue.

The food bank plans to start operating from its new location from Tuesday, September 1.

It currently operates from a building on 39650 Government Road in the North Yards. The new food bank at Under One Roof is called ‘The Market’ and will be open to all.

The Squamish Food Bank will close on August 14 for transition to the new location.

Those who require food between August 15 and 31 are asked to visit the Squamish Helping Hands at 39730 Third Avenue.

Squamish Helping Hands can prepare food hampers as well as free hot meals to go.

For those unable to get to the Squamish Helping Hands, the food bank can be reached at squamishfoodbank@gmail.com or at 604-815-7332.

The timings for the new location are follows:

Tuesday: 11 am to 1 pm

Wednesday: 5 pm to 7 pm

Thursday: 11 am to 1 pm

Friday: 5 pm to 7 pm

Saturday: 11 am to 1 pm

“COVID-19 measures will be in place to ensure the safety of all staff, volunteers and participants. We look forward to welcoming you to ‘The Market’ at Under One Roof,” the food bank said.

Meanwhile, the COVID-19 emergency hamper program at the food bank will end on Friday, August 14 and final hampers deliveries will be made on August 10.
