The Squamish Public Library is now open for express browsing and borrowing of library materials, as well as public computer and printing access.
The library will be open, Monday to Friday, from 1 pm to 4 pm for these services.
“We are proud of the work that has gone into setting up our facility and training our staff to be able to safely resume these in-person services, and are very happy to be able to serve the community inside the building again,” said Hilary Bloom, Director of Library Services.
“We will also continue operating our take-out service, to provide the option of curbside pick-up of holds as an alternative to entering the building; library take-out has proven to be a popular and convenient method for providing access to library materials since we launched it three months ago, and it aligns with our efforts to encourage safe physical distancing to the fullest extent.”
Seating will not be available, and patrons must limit their stay for express borrowing. Only 10 people will be allowed in the library for browsing.
The library is recommending that people wear a face mask, keep two-metre distance, browse with eyes and touch as few objects as possible.
The borrowed items can be returned to the drop box at the back of the library building. The borrowed items can’t be returned inside the library.
The library announced last month it won’t be charging for overdue items and has eliminated all existing late fines.
