The local Hilltop House Support Society is urging people to buy $3 re-usable shopping bags to support the Hilltop residents.
The bags are currently for sale at Garibaldi Graphics, the Squamish Adventure Center, the Beehive in Brackendale, and at the Squamish Hospital Store.
“The aim is to see bright yellow bags in use all around Squamish supporting the members of our community residing at Hilltop House,” says Christina Musselwhite, the society’s president.
Musselwhite says the society has had to cancel all their regular activities that take place at Hilltop as the staff continues to keep the residents safe against Covid-19.
Most fund-raising events had to be cancelled this year, she says, but the society is currently raising funds for the residents by selling re-usable shopping bags at a cost of $3.00 each.
The society’s priority is to raise funds to assist the activities staff with continuing events for the residents within Hilltop House, especially as the Christmas season approaches.
The Hilltop Support Society is thankful to the following sponsors: GFL Environmental, District of Squamish, Garibaldi Dental, Chances Casino and Matt Ciesielski – Black Tusk Realty.
All the proceeds from the sale of the bags will go directly to benefit the Hilltop residents.
