COVID-19 gargle test now available for adults in Sea to Sky

Vancouver Coastal Health has made the new COVID-19 saline gargle tests available for adults in the Sea to Sky corridor.

However, no eating, drinking, smoking or brushing of teeth is allowed one hour before the test.

They are being provided at the following locations in Sea to Sky.

Squamish General Hospital

Testing available in the Emergency Department.

Open daily, 24 hours a day.

Testing available for ages 4 and more and saline (gargle) test available for children and adults.

Squamish Assessment Centre

New testing available at 40456 Government Road

Open daily, 9 am to 4 pm

Testing available for ages 4 and over, and saline (gargle) test available for children and adults.

Pemberton Health Centre

Testing available at 1403 Portage Road

Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Testing available for ages 4 and above, and saline (gargle) test available for children and adults.

Whistler Health Care Centre

Testing available at 4380 Lorimer Road

Pre-screening appointment required. Call 604-210-5911 to book.

Monday to Sunday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Testing available for ages 4 and over, and saline (gargle) test available for children and adults.

VCH says testing is available for all who need it but not everyone requires a test.

If you think you have symptoms, use the BC COVID-19 Self-Assessment Tool to help determine if you need further assessment or testing for COVID-19.

You can complete this assessment for yourself, or on behalf of someone else, if they are unable to.
