Wind warning issued for Howe Sound

Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for Howe Sound.

Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.

Very strong southeast winds of 70 km/h gusting to 90 are expected early this afternoon across parts of Metro Vancouver near the water, particularly Tsawwassen and Boundary Bay, southern Howe Sound including Bowen Island and the Southern Gulf Islands.

The wind will subside later this afternoon as the front exits the area.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
