Squamish RCMP find alleged thief passed out in stolen car

Squamish RCMP has arrested an alleged thief who was found passed out in a car stolen from North Vancouver.

On January 28, a local officer on routine patrol early morning hours found a man passed out behind the wheel of a car in Squamish.

Police later determined the car was stolen out of North Vancouver.

The man was arrested for possession of stolen property.

He was lodged in local detachment cells and released from custody when he was sober.

He will appear in court soon.

Mischief to property

On January 28, a business owner found out his excavator had been vandalized.

Police say unknown people poured a substance into the radiator.

The owner has now taken security measures to ensure this doesn’t happen in the future.
