Whistler RCMP issued a violation ticket for speeding as well as for breaking COVID-19 rules to a driver.
On January 30, at approximately 12:30 am, Whistler RCMP pulled over a vehicle speeding in the area of Highway 99 and Brio subdivision.
The driver was issued a violation ticket for speeding.
Police also learned that the driver had been in the country for the past nine days and was supposed to be in quarantine for fourteen days.
The RCMP issued a violation ticket for $1,150 under the Quarantine Act.
The Whistler RCMP responded to a higher number of noise complaints and COVID-19 related matters over the weekend.
The RCMP responded to seven COVID-19 complaints and issued five Public Health Order violation tickets.
The RCMP said it would like to remind the community to follow all Public Health recommendations, and call the Whistler RCMP if community members observe Public Health Order Violations.
Meanwhile, VCH is also encouraging all Whistler residents and potential visitors to prevent community transmission of COVID-19.
