Local business broken into with rocks; 8 jackets stolen

Squamish RCMP are investigating after a local business was broken into with rocks by criminals.

On March 9, a local business in the 39000 block Discovery Way was broken into.

Suspects broke the front glass door with a rock and stole eight Mammut Nordwant jackets of various colors with a retail value of $800 each.

This investigation continues.

Impaired driving

On March 13, Squamish RCMP received an impaired driving complaint.

The investigation revealed the driver was drunk, and was issued an immediate roadside driving prohibition under the Motor Vehicle Act.

The driver is not permitted to drive for 90 days, had their car impounded, and was given safe transportation to home by police.

Vehicle thefts

Squamish RCMP have received as many as 21 complaints from local residents related to thefts from cars and car thefts.

Squamish RCMP have issued a warning to the public about car thieves at work in Squamish.

Between March 9 and 15, Squamish RCMP have responded to multiple complaints of thefts from cars, attempted car thefts, and stolen cars.

Squamish RCMP will be releasing photos of stolen vehicles soon.
