A ‘community member’ at Valleycliffe Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19, says SD 48.
“We are supporting Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) in undertaking contact tracing so they can assess if any additional steps are required,” said Lisa McCullough, the Superintendent of SD 48 Schools.
VCH will determine if anyone in the school community was in contact with the person who has tested positive for COVID-19 while they were potentially infectious.
VCH will also determine if anyone in the school community is a close contact that is required to either self-monitor or self-isolate, and will determine the communication plan.
Only VCH can determine who is a close contact.
To ensure personal privacy rights are maintained, SD 48 will not provide additional details.
“Please be reassured that our schools will continue to implement the strict protocols and procedures we have in place so that children can continue to attend school as safely as possible,”McCullough said.
“We will continue to work closely with VCH to provide ongoing communication as required.”
