Variance request for deck extension in downtown building

Staff report
March 24, 2021 11:20am

District of Squamish is seeking public feedback on a variance request for an extension to a downtown building.

The variance request is for the building at 37738 Third Avenue.

The applicants propose an extension of the existing deck for the third floor residence. The addition would encroach into the rear setback in addition to increasing the allowable lot coverage.

The addition would increase the size of the covered parking, storage, and workspace for the business below.

The variance would increase the lot coverage from 50 per cent to 52 per cent.

Those who believe their interest in property will be affected can present written submissions to the district at a special business meeting to be held on Tuesday, April 6, at 6 pm.

There are three ways to participate: In writing, electronic participation, and by telephone. Know more about the ways to participate at this link.
