Zipline, covered shelters with accessible picnic tables, plaza area with bench seating, bike racks and a multi-use pathway connection to Discovery Trail are some of the features of the new Dentville Park.
District has started construction on the new park, located on Buckley Avenue between Carson Place and Britannia Avenue.
The park is expected to be complete in late summer or the early fall of 2021.
The Dentville Park playground will consist of play features such as multi-play structure, swings, and natural equipment.
A number of larger alder trees located on Buckley Avenue have been identified for removal as part of this work because they are nearing their life expectancy and will become fall hazards.
Tree removal is expected to begin the week of March 22 with site preparation and construction to follow.
Removal will be limited to young trees, unhealthy “dead wood” trees and trees identified as danger trees.
These trees will be replaced with a mix of native coniferous and deciduous trees to grow a healthy long-standing treed barrier from the road and the new park.
