March 29, 2021 3:50pm

A school teacher injured in the knife attack outside the Lynn Valley Library is expected to make a full recovery.

In a statement, Mark Pearmain. Superintendent of SD 44, confirmed that teacher at Argyle Secondary School,  Sheloah Klausen, was injured in the attack.

“We are saddened and shocked by this, but we are also relieved to be able to share with you that Ms. Klausen is expected to make a full recovery,” he said.

He said North Vancouver School District is aware of other members of SD 44 community that were directly impacted by this incident.

A number of students were in the area and witnessed the incident unfold and will be indirectly impacted by the experience, he said.

“We are sensitive to the fact that such an incident has an impact on students and staff. To support the school communities, counsellors from the School District Critical Incident Team are available to assist students individually or in small groups. Counselling support is also available to school district staff.”
