A member of the Valleycliffe Elementary School community has tested positive for COVID-19.
The school is supporting Vancouver Coastal Health in undertaking contact tracing to assess if any additional steps are required.
VCH will now determine if anyone in the school community was in contact with the person who tested positive for COVID-19 while they were potentially infectious.
It will also be determined if anyone in the school community is a close contact that is required to either self-monitor or self-isolate.
Only VCH can determine who is a close contact.
“To ensure personal privacy rights are maintained, we will not be providing additional details,” school said in a letter to parents.
“The safety and well-being of our students, families, and staff remains our highest priority. Please be reassured that our schools will continue to implement the strict protocols and procedures we have in place so that children can continue to attend school as safely as possible.”
Meanwhile, a potential COVID exposure is also reported by VCH at the Howe Sound Secondary.
The potential exposure dates are Mar. 29 to April 1.
