BC Hydro is advising the community of increased water flows in the Lower Bridge River this spring.
The first increase is planned for Wednesday, May 5, with an increase in water released from Terzhagi (TRZ) Dam.
The estimated change will be from 11.1 m3/s to 25.0 m3/s, although actual discharge amount may vary.
This change in flows will help to reduce the risk of high flows in August, during the Gates Creek run on Seton River, and will also help to reduce the risk of spill events this fall on the Lower Bridge River.
Members of the public are reminded to use extreme caution when active in and around the river as water levels may rise suddenly and without warning.
Residents and visitors are reminded to stay away from the edges of the river during this high flow period and continue to be mindful of water safety throughout the year.
