Intermittent lane closures on Cleveland Avenue

Staff report
May 17, 2021 12:30pm

Lane closures will be in effect for Cleveland Avenue Traffic Island maintenance.

Brief intermittent lane closures of up to a few minutes will be in effect on either side of the Cleveland Avenue traffic island to allow for staff safety while maintenance work is underway.

The closures will last until May 19, from 6 am to 2 pm.

The sidewalk maintenance and street sweeping work will also take place throughout the Downtown core on May 20,  between 6 am and 2 pm.

Street sweeping will also take place on May 21, beginning at 6 a.m. on some streets. Light sleepers/shift workers may wish to plan accordingly, the district says.

The district has also been successful in receiving $601,615 through a provincial grant.

This grant money will used for the reconstruction of the Squamish Municipal Airport – Don Patrick Field runway.

The funding will allow for full reconstruction of the runway. The project will continue throughout May 17.
