The sharp decline in COVID-19 cases in the Howe Sound health region continues.
According to the latest weekly data released by British Columbia Centre for Disease Control, there were only 5 cases of COVID-19 from May 16 to May 22.
Howe Sound health region comprises Squamish, Britannia Beach, Whistler, and Pemberton and its rural areas.
The week before, 14 cases were recorded in the Howe Sound health region. Before that, from May 1 to May 8, the Howe Sound region recorded 11 cases.
From April 18 to April 24, there were 50 cases of COVID-19 in the region, 131 positive in the week before that and 337 people tested positive in the week before that.
BCCDC doesn’t release any data on how many people recovered or were hospitalized, and data isn’t released for individual communities.
BC is now in Step 1 of the restart plan and is closely monitoring the COVID-19 progress to ensure it stays on track.
“As immunization is the foundation of our approach, it’s crucial to our success that we all get registered and vaccinated,” Province said.
