Squamish RCMP Victim Services has added two trained volunteers to work in community alongside the Victim Services Coordinator.

Victim Services help provide police based and community support for victims of crime. The names of the volunteers were withheld by Squamish RCMP

The two volunteers gave four hours weekly over the last four months to complete the Squamish Victim Services Basic Training Course and exam.

On Friday, May 28, Staff Sergeant Gareth Bradley and Victim Service Coordinator Shawna Bain of the Squamish Detachment presented the volunteers with certificates of completion.

“A milestone has been reached for Squamish Victim Services, these are our first two volunteers to complete the training program, and we are excited to continue growing and to support victims of crime,” says Shawna Bain.

Squamish RCMP are thankful for the partnership with the volunteers and for support through the District of Squamish and BC RCMP Crime Prevention.
