Squamish Search and Rescue responded to two incidents this past weekend involving a missing hiker and a man in medical distress.
Around 6 am on Saturday, June 5, SAR crews were called by RCMP to help find a man in medical distress who had gone missing in the Smoke Bluffs neighbourhood.
SAR crews mounted a ground search but were unable to find him, said BJ Chute, the Squamish SAR manager.
About two-and-a-half hour later, the man was found by a resident in the family’s yard, from where he was taken to the local hospital.
Later that day, a woman who was lost in a Murrin Park trail was rescued by Squamish Search and Rescue.
Squamish RCMP had alerted the SAR about a young woman who was lost in the Jurassic Ridge Trail in Murrin Park.
The woman was able to give her coordinates to the rescue members and was located a few hours later.
