The District of Squamish has announced that public attendance at council meetings will begin Tuesday, July 13.
However, due to audiovisual constraints at this time, public participation for delegations or unscheduled speakers will continue to be electronic via WebEx or phone until Step 4.
There are no public hearings or development permits with variances scheduled for the remainder of July.
Masks are recommended in indoor public places for all people 12 and older who are not yet fully vaccinated.
All meetings will be held in accordance with the District’s Communicable Disease Prevention Plan and the provisions of the Provincial Health Officer (PHO) Gatherings and Events order.
Prior to the pandemic, the district live-streamed its meetings and this will continue.
The district says it is working diligently to update COVID-19 safety plans in line with Step 3 of the BC Restart Plan and the subsequent guidance from WorkSafeBC and the BC Municipal Safety Association.
Full public attendance at district facilities is expected to resume from September 7.
