Drunk driver’s car impounded on Highway 99

Squamish RCMP have impounded a car and the driver was given a 90-day ban for driving under the influence on Highway 99.

On July 16, officers investigated a report of erratic driving along Highway 99.

Officers determined the driver was impaired after he failed two approved screening device tests.

Under the Motor Vehicle Act, the police impounded the car for 30 days, and served the driver with 24-hour and 90-day driving prohibitions.

On July 19, Squamish RCMP investigated a theft from vehicle that happened sometime overnight in the 38300 block of Summits View Dr.

Suspects stole two knives, about $30 in loose change, and a pair of headphones.
