Squamish Wind Festival for the Arts is back from August 9th to 15th

Squamish Wind Festival for the Arts is back from August 9th through to August 15th with a diverse schedule of programming featuring a dynamic range of both visual and the performing arts.

The festival features live musical performances, visual arts, and hands-on workshops, and Sk̲wx̲wú7meshÚxumixw cultural presentations. Wind Festival for the Arts, produced by the Squamish Arts Council in partnership with the District of Squamish and the Government of Canada, is a week-long festival that takes place at various locations around the township of Squamish, British Columbia, August 9th through to August 15th, 2021.

Expect a variety of events throughout the week to participate in. Hands-on workshops (August 9th to 12th) at the 55 Activity center in downtown Squamish include pottery, eucalyptus wreaths, flower crowns, drum making, paint pouring, and seniors programs. Live musical performances include a range of talent including a fundraiser to support the beloved DJ, Mat the Alien(August 13th), local talent featured in ‘Amped in the Park’ (August 12th) as well as a special Oceanfront Party (August 14th) with Juno-winning Norman Foote hosting a special live and live-streamed show (Wind at the B.A.G August 15th).

Squamish Arts Council aims to generate awareness of and improve access to arts & culture in Squamish while supporting local artists.Through seeking funding resources, strengthening communication, and supporting local art initiatives they hope to serve the Squamish community as an advocate for the vision of a vibrant arts & culture scene in Squamish.
