The River Forecast Centre has issued a flood warning for the Bridge River above Downton Lake.
Hot temperatures up to 37.7 °C over the past week have triggered significant amount of glacial melt at the higher elevations of the Bridge River.
Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) forecasts the hot temperatures are dropping this weekend.
The Water Survey of Canada is currently reporting a flow of 274 m3/s, which is a flow between the 20- and 50-year return periods.
Based on the current hydrological modeling, the flow is expected to rise slightly and then drop this weekend into next week.

The public is advised to stay clear of the fast-flowing rivers and potentially unstable riverbanks during the high-streamflow period.
