SLRD issues new evacuation alert in select areas

A new, amended Evacuation Alert has been issued by the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District.

The McKay Creek Fire (K71030), which was discovered on June 29th 2021 in the vicinity of the 32km mark of the West Pavilion Road.

It has expanded significantly and has necessitated a number of Evacuation Orders affecting properties in SLRD Electoral Areas A and B.

There is potential danger to life and health from compromised evacuation route access towards Lillooet via the Lillooet-Pioneer Road 40, West Pavilion Road and Highway 99.

The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District has issued an amended Evacuation Alert for the following expanded areas at the recommendation of the BC Wildfire Fire Service:

Lillooet Pioneer Road 40, from the District of Lillooet to Seton Portage

All addresses in Seton Portage, excluding the Highline Road

Mission Dam Road

West Pavilion Road south of Blackhill Creek

Pavilion-Clinton Road, between Hwy 99 and the Thompson-Nicola Regional District

Carson Ranch Road

Pearl Lake Road

Shinta Road

Pavilion Ferry Road

Hwy 99 from 3km north of the District of Lillooet to 1km north of Pavilion-Clinton Road

Uncle Toms Road

Fountain Station Road

Fountain Valley Rd from Hwy 99 and south for 2kms

Sallus Creek Road

Desert Flat Pit Road

Headless Gulch and Tiffen Creek Road

All other roads and properties as outlined on the attached map.
