Squamish Fire Rescue responded to an industrial fire on Squamish Valley Road at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 31.
There were no reported injuries at the scene.
Fire Rescue crews arrived on scene to discover a ‘fully involved’ outbuilding fire with exposure into the main building, said Rachel Boguski, media relations at District of Squamish.
Fire suppression was a challenge for crews as the area is not serviced by the district’s municipal water system and is not protected by fire hydrant.
For that reason, Squamish Fire Rescue responded with two pumpers and one ladder truck along with a number of auxiliary vehicles.
Firefighters were also helped by area residents who provided a large portable water tank to fire crews.
“Squamish Fire Rescue wishes to express appreciation to those who lent a hand,” Boguski added.
