One man was arrested and charged after a domestic incident off Highway 99 in Pemberton.

He faces assault, assault with a weapon, and several other charges.

On October 2, at approximately 8:55 am, Pemberton RCMP were called to a complaint of family dispute on Underhill Lane off Highway 99 in Pemberton.

Upon arrival, police located the victim outside. The suspect was on the roof but climbed back into the home after speaking to the officers.

Due to the nature of this incident, Pemberton RCMP had requested the assistance of the Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team.

The suspect was safely taken into custody at approximately 1:30 pm.

A fire that had broken out in the home was also extinguished by Pemberton Fire.

Several additional agencies assisted including the Pemberton Fire, BC Ambulance, and the Lower Mainland Police Dog Services.

“This is the fourth serious file the Sea to Sky RCMP has seen in the past week and we are thankful there have been no injuries to the persons involved as well as to our police officers” said Sergeant Sascha Banks.

“We again thank all the communities including Pemberton for their patience and for the assistance of our Pemberton Fire Department, BC Ambulance, and Lower Mainland Teams specialty teams such as ERT and Dog Services.”
