This February, locals are invited to delve into the ‘deep, dark, delicious’ world of hot chocolate as Squamish’s best cafes prepare for the Squamish Hot Chocolate Festival.

The second Hot Chocolate Festival runs from February 4 to 21 with each participating café offering a unique hot chocolate and dessert pairing to tempt the taste buds. There are 16 cafes taking part this year and each one will offer something completely different than what they usually offer.

“It offers a chance for baristas and bakers to get creative in the kitchen and showcases all things chocolate and indulgence,” said Rebekah Gusway, the organiser.

This year we have 16 cafes participating in the event, and next week the cafes will start announcing what pairings they will present. The event is also supported by Tourism Squamish.

“Be sure to make the rounds and visit each locale, sipping and appreciating each divine hot chocolate for its presentation, flavour, creativity and overall appeal. In the end, the only judge in this devilishly decadent experiment is you.”

Here are the participating cafes:

1914 Coffee Co.

Bean Brackendale Cafe

Alice and Brohm (Garibaldi location)

Café Garibaldi

Chatterbox Café

Cloudburst Café

Counterpart Café

Fox&Oak

Grateful Gift Shop

Green Moustache

Green Olive Café

The Crabapple café

Ride Hub Café

Sea to Sky Gondola

Sunflower Bakery and Café
