Vancouver Coastal Health has individual rooms available for children with special needs and those who need quiet space during COVID-19 vaccination.
To help make COVID-19 vaccine experience as quick and comfortable as possible, VCH says it has several dedicated children’s clinics for kids aged five to 11.
These clinics run until February 13 across the Vancouver Coastal Health region. For children who need quieter space, VCH has clinics in three places that have individual rooms.
Vancouver: George Pearson Centre Age 5-11 Clinic
Richmond: Pacific Autism Family Network Age 5-11 Clinic
North Shore: ICBC centre, 255 Lloyd Avenue, North Vancouver, Age 5-11 Clinic
Parents can look for them when booking their appointment through the provincial ‘Get Vaccinated’ system. VCH has also made arrangements for children who need extra support.
Children with special need such as autism, sensory processing, or needle phobia can call VCH to set up an appointment at the clinics.
For all VCH regions, the number is 604-263-7377.
For Lower Mainland, the appointments can be set up at the Richmond Neurodivergent Clinic at the Pacific Autism Family Network: 604-233-3126
