Squamish RCMP seek info about stolen dinghy

Staff report
March 9, 2022 6:02pm

Squamish RCMP are seeking information about a stolen dinghy. On March 1, 2022 Squamish RCMP were informed of a stolen 9’ inflatable West Marine model SB275 dinghy.

The dinghy was tied to a boat at the Squamish Marina dock between Sunday February 27 and March 1. The dinghy is believed to have been towed out by another boat, police say though there is no video surveillance available in the area.

The boat has been added to www.stolenboats.ca. Squamish RCMP are asking anyone with information to contact the police.

Impaired driver’s vehicle impounded

On March 5, 2022 Squamish RCMP were actively patrolling and conducting impaired driving enforcement. A large pickup truck was stopped and the officer noticed a strong smell of liquor on the driver’s breath and slurring of words.

The driver failed on the roadside breath samples, after which the vehicle impounded and the driver suspended for 90 days.
