Info sought in deadly Whistler shooting; no threat to public

July 24, 2022 3:44pm

The Sea to Sky RCMP is seeking information related to the shooting at a hotel in Whistler Village that left one man dead. Another man was also shot but his condition is not known.

The suspects were later arrested in Squamish, though police have yet to officially confirm this. The shooting took place at Sundial Hotel around 12:19 pm and a burned car was later found burning in the Blueberry Hill area.

“While this matter is very serious and the investigation is in its infancy, we can say there is no ongoing risk to public safety,” says Corporal Angela Kermer, Media Relations Officer for the Sea to Sky RCMP.

“The investigation is in its early stages. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has been engaged with local investigators, and other units are also supporting the investigation.”

Police ask anyone with information regarding the above file to contact the Whistler RCMP at 604-932-3044, or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, or go to the http://www.solvecrime.ca
