‘Minor offences’ at Squamish Constellation Festival: Squamish RCMP

July 28, 2022 5:25pm

Barring minor offences, the recently concluded Squamish Constellation Festival was a peaceful event, says Squamish RCMP .

The local police had been working with the festival organisers and had dedicated resources for the event. Police dealt with minor offences such as youth drinking, people jumping safety fences, and groups of people bike riding at night with no safety equipment such as lights or helmets.

Police commend the crowds for being generally well behaved.

Potential Fraud

On July 21, a resident received fraudulent looking bank documents in the mail from a local bank.

The bank later confirmed that they do not send sensitive documents by mail. Police and the bank are investigating. While no offence occurred, the smart thinking of the complainant potentially stopped anything further from happening, police say.
