Van Urban Timber is inviting the community to the first annual Builders Festival in the community, a collaborative ‘two-day’ event, from 11 am to 6 pm September 17 and 18.

The builder’s festival is open to the public with local builders, using local wood, building live on location at Van Urban Timber, with final projects donated to the Squamish community.

It will be held at 1126 Resolution Way, and its theme is “Building, Educating, and Sharing’.  “Our goal is to celebrate the Sea-to-Sky forest industries and those who build with the lumber derived from our forests. At Builders Fest, you’ll be able to watch local Squamish builders, “Blue Water Concepts” & “Legacy Timberworks,” as they build wooden structures for donation to “Under One Roof” and “Foundry Sea-to-Sky,” the festival organisers said.

During the two days, attendees can walk through Vendor Village, presented by Matthews West, and check out local businesses or watch a woodworking demonstration by Squamish Men’s Shed. Sea-to-Sky Forestry Society Centre’s pop-up museum will also be displayed during the event. Visitors can also enjoy “DJ PRAiZ – Music Therapy,” presented by Squamish Arts.

Visitors can also register to attend the “Timber Talks” educational series hosted by UBC Forestry.
