Only 39.73 per cent of all eligible voters came out to vote in the Squamish municipal elections, a decrease from the last elections.
According to the District of Squamish, 6,718 ballots were cast in the 2022 elections, resulting in a voter turnout of 39.73%, once all new registrations were factored in.
The total number of registered Eligible Electors in 2022 was 16,910.
In the last elections in 2018, a total of 7,024 ballots were cast, resulting in a voter turnout of 47.8%, once all new registrations were factored in.
The total number of registered Eligible Electors in 2018 was 14,695. The District of Squamish has also determined the final results of the 2022 Squamish General Election at noon on October 18, 2022.
Squamish voters elected six Councillors and one Mayor.
