Very strong outflow winds forecast for Squamish

November 6, 2022 1:55pm

Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for Squamish.

Strong outflow winds will develop Monday afternoon and will continue through Tuesday.

“Arctic air will arrive on the coast on Monday causing a drop in temperature and very strong outflow winds. Winds will gust to 60 km/h with gusts to 90 km/h over southern sections of Howe Sound, including Bowen Island,” says the agency.

High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break. Utility outages may occur, the agency cautions. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
